Ed Brubaker Books Editorial Review

Pulp, written by Ed Brubaker and illustrated by Sean Philips, is a beautifully spun tale of a cowboy in the city who gets one last chance to be the hero of his own tale. The story is a mix of noir fiction and westerns, with a simple overall plot that becomes more complex when you factor in the details about the writing, plotting, penciling, inking, etc. The gritty pulp style of the story is both gnarly and twisty.
