It is not suitable for decoding Dolby or DTS audio formats, which will only be extracted and output through the optical port for further decoding. This product can pass ARC channels through its HDMI output, and the HDMI output will have the same video and audio content as the original HDMI feed. Some users have reported issues with the LFE and C channels being swapped in its output, requiring a workaround. The product has also been known to cause a loud pop in speakers unless given time to warm up before the AV receiver is turned on. However, for users with old speaker systems or devices that can only output LPCM audio, this product is a simple and cost-effective solution to get 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound from their devices.
