Ejder topları Pilaf Çetesi’nin kötü emellerine alet olmasın diye Goku ve arkadas¸ları hızlı davranıp S¸enlong’dan saçmasapan bir dilekte bulunurlar. S¸enlong hemen o anda bu dilegˆi yerine getirip bir yıl boyunca tekrar ortaya çıkmayacak s¸ekilde yok olur. Bu boşluğu değerlendirmek isteyen Goku, Kame-Sennin’den eğitim alır ve tekrar ejder toplarını aramak üzere maceraya atılır. Goku, üç yıllık yoğun eğitim sonrasında Tenkaiçi Budoukai’ye katılır ve ikinci olmayı başarır. Ancak dünyayı ele geçirmeyi planlayan Yüce İblis Kral Piccolo ortaya çıkar ve Goku ile karşı karşıya gelir. Muazzam bir kapışma sonunda zafer Goku’nun olur.
