The Bernette 79 machine is a sewing and embroidery machine that has a 10-year warranty. It has a dual feed and needle-down positioning feature that makes it easy and enjoyable to use. The outside dimensions of this machine are 509mm X 199.8mm X 314.3mm (20" X 8" X 12.5") without an embroidery attachment and has a shipping option of Fed-ex unless requested otherwise. It does not come with a USB. The machine is capable of embroidery on leather and sewing leather seams. The extension table is included in this machine. There are mixed reviews about this machine. Some people had trouble with it sewing by itself. It was also reported to need troubleshooting very often. A customer had to spend a lot of money making sure that the machine works correctly. The touch screen of the machine broke down after 2.5 years of use and could not be repaired. Another customer concluded that the Bernette 79 is not meant for heavy fabrics and projects that involve several layers. However, the machine is capable of regular sewing, embroidery, and light sewing to some degree. The needle threader has a challenge with tight positions. Overall, the Bernette 79 has a learning curve, and it is essential to watch many videos to master it. Some customers have had a great experience, while others had a not so good experience. It is probably not a good backup machine alternative if you have specialized embroidery machines.
